I have been a kindergarten teacher for eleven years! (I started when I was fifteen. :) ) My undergraduate degrees are in Social Work and Dance from Butler University. I earned my Master of Art in Teaching from National-Louis University. I achieved National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2009. I have two delightful children of my own, and I am married to an extremely supportive husband who has done more than his share of laminating. When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me on the dance floor, playing outside, or at the library!
Kindergarten is such a beautiful time in a child's life. At this stage, children are so curious about the world and eager to learn and explore. I am fortunate to be able to help guide many young learners. I consider it my life's work to incorporate play into our learning and implement developmentally appropriate practices to nurture readers, writers, mathematicians, and critical thinkers.
